Casino turns on the lights despite pandemic

The outlook is hopeful for Foxwoods Resort Casino as it invests in $1 million worth of renovations to secure the health and safety of its customers when they go back to the slot machines in June.

Foxwoods installed state-of-the-art thermal scanners to screen casino goers for fever, a proven COVID-19 symptom. The casino also put up Plexiglass dividers between slot machines and implemented safety guidelines to prevent viral transmission between gamblers.

Despite pressure from the pandemic, the Connecticut-based casino resumed operations on June 1, after it had a partial reopening on May 21.
